    Hi there,

I have noticed with a couple of connection partners, that after about 45 minutes (not exactly), that the signal we’re receiving from the other end, starts to dgrade and then completely stop.

    We then have to re-connect.

It seems that, even though everything is set up correctly, it is also using SourceStream on these connections.

Is there any logical reason for this “over time” degradation of audio?

Haven’t been able to get to the bottom of it. Port is open and everything is generally working perfectly otherwise.

    Hi Matt,

    Thank you for your post!

If you’re getting the “using Source-Stream” warning in the Source-Connect messages box, then it could be that your connection partner doesn’t have their ports mapped OR that either or both have “Use Source-Stream” enabled under the Advanced menu.

    1. Check that both ends have their ports open
    2. Disable Advanced > Use Source-Stream

After verifying this, it’d be interesting to try to determine if the degradation comes from Source-Connect or any peripheric system:

    A. Are you using Source-Connect Link to route audio to/from Source-Connect?
    B. Are you using Source-Nexus to route audio?
    C. Stereo or Mono session?
    D. How many plugin instances?

I’ve seen some audio degradation over time with some particular plugin configurations.

I hope this puts you on the right path; let us know if you need further help.

      Hi Javier,

      Thanks for getting back.

      1. Yes, with both ends having ports open.

      2. Yes tried also with SourceStream disabled.

I am using Source Nexus Pro in ProToolsUltimate (current version), to route various comms (usually about 5 Mono and Stereo instances) apps in a mix-minus matrix. All works really well and is essential to my workflow.

Will have to do some more exploring. As it takes about 45 mins to start happening, the process of elimination is quite time consuming.
